Fluid and Solid Inclusions in Host Minerals of Permian Pegmatites from Koralpe (Austria): Deciphering the Permian Fluid Evolution during Pegmatite Formation

چکیده

Fluid inclusions (FIs) and associated solids in host minerals garnet, tourmaline, spodumene, quartz from six pegmatite fields of Permian origin at Koralpe (Eastern Alps) have been investigated. Although pegmatites suffered intense Eoalpine high-pressure metamorphic overprint during the Cretaceous period, studied samples originate rock sections with well-preserved magmatic textures. Magmatic low-saline aqueous FIs garnet domains entrapped as part an unmixed fluid together primary N2-bearing that a rock-derived CO2-N2 dominated high-grade fluid. This is quartz. During mineral crystallization, mixing between solvus formed CO2-N2-H2O–rich various compositional degrees are preserved pseudo-secondary quartz, spodumene. Intense modification processes by in-situ mineral–fluid reactions high amount crystal-rich spodumene but also garnet. The distribution different types enables chronology growth (garnet-tourmaline/quartz-spodumene) their chemistry considered having exsolved parent melt rocks. Minimum conditions for crystallization ca. 4.5–5.5 kbar 650–750 °C constrained tourmaline that, unlike to not affected post-entrapment modifications. Late high-saline FIs, only recrystallized matrix, related post-pegmatite stage metamorphism.

Mass spectrometric identification of boric acid in fluid inclusions in pegmatite minerals

Direct, on-line mass spectrometric analyses were performed on volatiles released from microscopic fluid inclusions in quartz, feldspar, and tourmaline from the miarolitic Belo Horizonte #1 pegmatite in the San Jacinto district, and Himalaya pegmatite dike system in the Mesa Grande district of southern California. These analyses are the first inclusion volatile studies to indicate the presence o...

Pseudophillipsia (Carniphillipsia) (Trilobite) from the Permian Jamal Formation, Isfahan, Iran

The aim of this study is to bridge a gap in the existence of Trilobites in the marine Permian successions of Iran by exploring a stratigraphic section of the Permian in Jamal Formation (Dizlu section).  Based on comprehensive field studies and laboratory investigations three Trilobite specimens were identified in the study area including Pseudophillipsia (Carniphillipsia) dizluensis sp. nov., P...

THE OCCURRENCE AND ORIGIN OF ZABUYELITE (Li2CO3) IN SPODUMENE-HOSTED FLUID INCLUSIONS: IMPLICATIONS FOR THE INTERNAL EVOLUTION OF RARE-ELEMENT GRANITIC PEGMATITES

Solid – liquid – vapor fluid inclusions in spodumene in rare-element granitic pegmatites commonly contain one or more highbirefringence minerals. Optical examination and laser Raman spectroscopic analyses of over 500 crystal-rich fluid inclusions in spodumene from Bikita and Kamativi, Zimbabwe, and Bernic Lake (Tanco), Manitoba, indicate that the high-birefringence phase is zabuyelite (Li2CO3)....

Magmatic and Metamorphic Fluids in Pegmatite Development: Evidence from Borujerd Complex, Iran

The Borujerd complex of western Iran is composed of intrusions and their surrounding contact aureole, with, pegmatites and quartz veins. Pegmatites differ in mineralogy, origin and age, and two groups can be distinguished. The Older Pegmatites (about 120 Ma age) intruded contact metamorphic rocks from the early magmatic stage, while the Younger pegmatites (52-70 Ma age) formed during the late m...
